Drone & Aerial
The view from where the value is.
On the Gulf Coast, buyers pay for position — Gulf, bay, canal, golf, preserve. Position is invisible from the driveway. Aerials are how a listing proves it.
Two listings can share a floor plan and differ by half a million dollars because one backs a canal with Gulf access and the other backs a road. Ground photos cannot explain that difference; a 200-foot frame explains it in one image. That’s why drone photos ship standard in every listing package from Pro up — not as a novelty add-on.
Real aerial deliveries

Real work only
Every photo and film on this page is real client work shot by Visual Samples in our previous Knoxville, TN market — captioned honestly, never passed off as local. Now based in Sarasota, FL, shooting the Gulf Coast.
What we capture: the altitude ladder
A good aerial set isn’t one high photo — it’s a deliberate ladder of altitudes, each answering a different buyer question:
~25–50 ft
The elevated exterior — roofline, pool cage, and lot in one frame. Replaces the flat street shot for almost every Florida home with a lanai.
~100 ft
The property-in-context frame: lot shape, setbacks, dock or canal frontage, and how the home sits against its neighbors.
~200 ft
The neighborhood frame — community amenities, golf frontage, preserve edges, and the walk-to-water story told honestly.
Up to 400 ft
The geography frame: barrier island, bay, and Gulf in one image. The legal ceiling under Part 107 — and on the Gulf Coast, the frame that sells the location itself.
Where aerials matter most on the Gulf Coast
Barrier islands & waterfront
On Siesta Key, Longboat Key, and Anna Maria Island, the water is the value — Gulf or bay exposure, beach distance, and bridge access are visible only from the air. A canal home’s dock, boat lift, and no-bridge Gulf access are an aerial story, not a ground one.
Golf, preserve & community
Golf-course frontage, preserve views, and resort amenity packages (the pool complex, the tennis courts, the clubhouse) photograph best from altitude — standard for Lakewood Ranch, Palmer Ranch, and gated communities across the region.
Acreage & land
Vacant land barely photographs from the street. Parcels get their own service — multi-altitude sets with approximate boundary overlays — covered on the land & lot drone page with packages on /land.
Condos & amenity decks
For mid-rise and tower listings, aerials capture the amenity deck, the view plane from the unit’s floor, and the building’s position against the water — the three things a condo buyer scrolls for first.
Rules, airspace, and the honest answer
Commercial drone work is governed by the FAA’s Part 107 rules, and every Visual Samples flight is planned around them: airspace checked per address before the shoot day, altitude kept inside the 400-foot ceiling, and no flights where authorization isn’t available. Parts of Sarasota sit inside SRQ’s controlled airspace and the Tampa Bay side layers TPA’s — which is exactly why the airspace check happens at booking, not on the driveway. If a property can’t be flown, you know before you pay for aerial deliverables.
Want the full picture — Part 107, the up-to-$32,000-per-violation civil penalties for unlicensed commercial flying, Florida’s state rules, and what to ask any drone photographer before hiring them? That lives in the Florida drone rules guide for real estate.
Questions agents ask
Is drone photography included in your packages?
Yes — drone photos are included in every listing package from Pro ($349) up: Pro, Zillow Showcase, Branding Starter, and Lux. Base is ground-photography only. On the land side, every package is drone-led, and STR packages include drone frames where the property benefits.
Can you fly at my address?
Airspace is evaluated for every address before the shoot — parts of Sarasota and Bradenton sit in controlled airspace around SRQ, and the Tampa Bay side has its own layers around TPA, MacDill, and the smaller fields. Flights are planned around the FAA’s Part 107 rules; where a flight isn’t permitted, it doesn’t happen, and you hear that before you book — aerial deliverables are only promised where they can actually be flown.
Do aerial photos actually help sell a home?
For location-driven properties, aerials do work nothing else can: a widely cited MLS analysis found homes marketed with aerial imagery sold significantly faster — figures up to 68% faster circulate in industry research — and on waterfront listings the logic is plain: buyers are paying for position, and position is only visible from the air.
For an interior-driven condo with no view story, aerials matter less — and you’ll get that straight answer before you pay for them.
Do you shoot aerial video too?
Yes — drone footage is a standard ingredient in listing films and reels: push-ins from over the water, orbit reveals, and dolly-back closers. See the listing video service for how aerial and ground footage cut together.
